This very experimental phase of my art making is what brought me to textiles. My passion for fabric, stitching, and quilting started with rust printing and sewing on paper. I was curious how the printing would work on textiles, and also eager to stitch more freely - something that is very difficult to do on paper. And while I am no longer rust printing, this phase in my creative journey was transformative. I learned to follow my curiosity, take risks, and experiment wildly. I played and had fun. I created work that surprised me and I delighted in the excitement and uncertainty of process based art making.
